Hello!
Today is my first day back from Spring Break and the first day of the last quarter of my junior year. I am so excited, nervous, anxious, and READY for the upcoming weeks.
My favorite way to express this time period is "AP SEASON". This is a play on words, and alludes to "open season" during hunting, which is fitting because now, us students are targets of the teachers' wraths and work assignments. Of course, this is a very dramatic exaggeration of the circumstances, but I still do think that it captures the feelings of the majority of the student body.
Spring Break was much needed, but also very busy. I was so busy the entire time, that I barely got time to work on my homework, and boy did I have a lot of it. I honestly think that AP US history (APUSH) is the most intense class I will ever take in high school (with Anatomy and Physiology coming in second).
During Spring Break I was able to shadow at a pediatrician's office and revisit my summer internship. I am really happy that I was given these opportunities, and I feel more confident in working with children for my career (such as pediatric anesthesia). This is because both of these opportunities include working with children, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately, I was unable to shadow with an anesthesiologist because of scheduling conflicts; if I had been able to, I would have been able to get a better feel for my interest in anesthesiology.
However, conducting further research into anesthesiology for my final product will definitely help me gauge my interest in that profession, which is my goal for ISM.
