This week is the Professional Symposium! We have been preparing for a couple of weeks, and I am almost ready. I have my suit ready, and have almost memorized my elevator pitch! I just need to print out my resume, but I am waiting to see if I can get the special resume paper. If not, I will just print it on plain printer paper.
What I Want to Get out of the Symposium
Best case scenario: I meet an anesthesiologist who I can further schedule meetings with and will eventually agree to be my mentor.
Worst case scenario: I end up expelled from the ISM program (I really hope this doesn't happen).
Most probable scenario: I get to practice my interview skills and get to network with at least 1 professional and 1 other ISM student.
Worries
I feel pretty confident going into the Symposium, but I am slightly worried that I feel get too nervous to properly participate in the event. I understand that stuttering is pretty normal at the point, but I hope it doesn't completely through me off.
Overall, the Symposium is going to be a good experience and will aid me in finding a mentor.
