Hello! Welcome back to my blog. This past week has kept me so busy.

Original Work

Most importantly (and excitingly), I completed my original work proposal! That means that I will soon be posting my original work to this digital portfolio, and that you can see it.

Looks like I am getting ahead of myself. First, let me tell you what I will be creating. As I am sure you know by now, my topic is (pediatric) anesthesia, and I have been looking into the risks of general anesthesia. Well, another problem that I have found is that lack of patient education leads to increased complications (for example, eating before a surgery can lead to aspiration). This is especially relevant to pediatric anesthesia because the guardians/parents have to be educated alongside the patients due to pediatric patients typically not understanding their situation.

Due to this problem, I am planning on creating a pamphlet that gives basic information to patients and guardians. I will include the different options of anesthesia, as well as their pros and cons. Additionally, I will include post and pre operative instructions, such as what to do, and what not to do. In all of these elements, I will use layman's terms, as well as define jargon. Finally, I will include a QR code on the pamphlet that directs the reader to a PDF or Google Document to my citations (in the form of an Annotated Bibliography).

In the Future

I am deeply anticipating the coming weeks. I am to give a research speech next week, I have to schedule and attend three interviews, and I have to complete working on my original work. Most importantly, I have to find a mentor! Wish me luck...
