Hello there! I hope you are having a great day.
I am doing just fine....because I have a MENTOR! Yep, you read that right, I have a men-tor. You may think that this is rather sudden, but I have been thinking about asking Dr. Mendoza since before the break. Last week, I finally asked here to be my mentor, and, thankfully, she agreed. And, because the background check was approved by the district, she is officially my mentor!
One of the biggest challenges will definitely be aligning our schedules in order to meet for about an hour every week. This is because she lives in Colorado, and is a resident, so her shift schedule is unpredictable. However, I am really glad that I have found a mentor in time to start creating my final product.
Speaking of, I am thinking of creating a research paper of what improvements could be made to the field of anesthesia in order to improve patient outcomes, and the experience in general.
I also have to start working on my Original Work speech, which is due on Friday. This speech has to be 20 minutes long, so I have to really go into detail. I will probably add on new information onto my old slides from my Research speech. Everyone that has spoken so far has done really well, so I hope that I am able to meet those standards.
In other news, the date for the Gallery Walk has been chosen: February 27 at the UNT campus. That means I really have to get started on my poster. I am a bit disappointed that the venue is not the Stars stadium, but I have heard the UNT campus is brand new and marvelous.
Wish me luck!
